The design phase is the first activity in a HVDC project.
Conceptual design
Before contract award, a major part of the design work has already been completed by ABB during preparation of our proposal. All main circuit parameters and conceptual drawings for buildings and layout have been discussed with the customer.

Detailed design
The design work done during the proposal preparation is continued and finalized. Detailed designing of all systems, civil works and switchyards is performed. For this work the most advanced CAD systems available are used, which ensures fast work of a high quality.
