The binder design is based on the print media grid and basic elements. These guidelines apply whether the binder is silk-screened, or uses a slip-in cover printed separately.
1. Regardless of the binder and spine dimensions, the binder should be predominantly white, and have margins from all edges equal to no less than the height of the logo (H).
2. Title should be 18 to 24 point Helvetica Neue Heavy in black. The subhead should be Helvetica Neue Bold, set 20 to 16 point in 50% black. Type should be aligned on logo height H from the top and left edges.
3. The creative panel includes all graphics, photographs, decorative elements and additional text (other than headline text). The creative panel begins one logo height H from the bottom of the last line of headline/subhead text, or one logo height from the top of the binder if there is no text. The creative panel should align 1 logo height H from the left edge of the binder, and may extend no closer than 1 logo height H from the right edge of the binder. The combined text and creative panel may come no lower than one logo height H from the top of the ABB logo.
4. Text and logo on the spine should be centered to the panel, one logo height H from the top and bottom. Background must be white; elements from the creative panel may not appear on the spine.
5. The logo should be 12mm in ABB red (pantone 032). If the binder art is to be printed by traditional or digital printing methods, the regular version of the logo should be used. If the binder will be silk-screened or created with another coarse production method, the bold version of the logo should be used.
