ABB´s primary corporate typeface is Neue Helvetica and our secondary corporate typeface is ITC Garamond. The primary face should be used in all signage, technical literature and multimedia applications. It is also the preferred choice for brochure headlines and subhead text. ITC Garamond, ABB's secondary typeface, should be used in forms of communication (like advertisements and marketing brochures) that have a more conversational tone. It is also easier to read in long documents. Some discretion is allowed in choosing between the primary and secondary typefaces in certain applications, otherwise Helvetica Neue should be preferred.
ABB does not own their typefaces, therefore, documents created in the Microsoft Office suite, or other on-screen media should use the following replacement fonts: Arial for Neue Helvetica and Times New Roman for ITC Garamond. However, all the marketing materials must be designed by professionals, and therefore the corporate typefaces must be used.
A link to Adobe may be found on the right, where you can purchase and download properly licensed ABB's corporate fonts. Certain locations may require administrative assistance or IT Help Desk permission to add these resources to your computer; it is recommended that you contact them prior to purchasing any typefaces.
Due to intellectual property rights, the free sharing of copyrighted typefaces, even within ABB, is not permitted. Most fonts are licensed for use.
