Please note:
Letters which run to two or more pages should use continuation sheets for each page after the first page. (See under section "
Letterhead, Continuation Sheet.") It is possible to add quality certification symbols (i.e. ISO) to the letterhead as quality certifications are achieved by a whole company.
Placement of logo: Underneath horizontal line, in the right-hand corner, not bigger than the ABB Logotype, 70 % tint of black. The right edge of the certification symbol should align with the right edge of the black horizontal line (item 3), the top of the symbol should align with the top of the address text (item 4).
Printing Letterheads:
When the letterhead is printed professionally, the ABB logotype must appear in the correct ABB red, as a spot (not process) color. The logo should not be printed in raised (thermography) inks, watermarked or embossed. If you must print letterhead from your office printer, then the ABB logo should appear in black. This is because a standard office color printer cannot correctly reproduce the ABB red color.
Paper stock:
It is important to use a high quality stock that reflects the value of the ABB brand. The card stock must be matte, smooth and bright white, and cannot be textured (laid, linen or woven finish) or glossy. Recycled paper should be specified whenever possible, as part of ABB’s commitment to sustainability.
Be sure to order letterhead on laser-compatible stock with heat compatible inks, as most business units print onto letterhead directly from a laser printer. Not doing so could result in smudged, inferior quality documents, or damaged printers and copiers.

For cost savings, consider printing a large quantity of letterhead sheets with the ABB logo in red only, and then distribute those pages to regional offices to imprint their individual information at a later time in black in from a laser printer.
