Meet Global Consulting people

ANDREW, Environmental Consultant: “I like working for ABB because they have provided me with the opportunity to work on a large number of varied projects within my field and have actively supported my careers goals by providing training and valuable experience.”

After obtaining a joint honours degree in chemistry and physics at Manchester University, Andy began working for an electronics manufacturing company on a graduate scheme as a process engineer. Subsequently Andy worked as a Process Engineer in the automotive sector and glass manufacturing.

“I initially joined to ABB to support environmental permit applications in September 2005 working on three major applications for BP. After 12 months I became a Consultant and was subsequently promoted to Lead Consultant after a 12 month period. At the moment ABB is funding my studies for an MSc in environmental management.

My current role is to lead and manage environmental projects for ABB’s top 50 clients including BP, SABIC, Rohm & Haas, GSK, Johnson Matthey and Dow. I also own ABB’s Best Available Technique product and have given several technical presentations to the industry on the subject.

I like working for ABB because they have provided me with the opportunity to work on a large number of varied projects within my field and have actively supported my careers goals by providing training and valuable experience.”

ABB Global Consulting is a very professional organisation and gives freedom to its employees to work in a flexible manner which is very useful when trying to bring up a young family.”
