Information contained in the EPDs is based on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) over the whole life cycle of the products, i.e. from production of raw material to the recycling of material when the products are taken out of service.
In each phase of the life cycle there are environmental aspects, e.g. power losses and production of waste. The EPDs provide quantitative information on all these aspects in comparable terms, for example global warming effects and use of non-renewable resources in each one of the phases.
