2009-06-29 - An ABB solution for the world’s largest seawater desalination plant using reverse osmosis technology – currently under construction in Algeria - will boost energy efficiency and cut maintenance downtime from weeks to days compared to current industry benchmarks.

The meeting also celebrated the latest product release SYS 600 version 9.2. and DMS 600 version 4.2.
2006-12-28 - ABB is supplying a state-of-the-art control system to integrate the largest seawater desalination plant in the southern hemisphere into the Western Australia water network. The plant will feed the same network as another ABB automation project – the 700-kilometer Goldfields Pipeline, the longest potable water pipeline in the world.

2006-03-22 - Mining company RWE Power has ordered 25 ABB AquaMaster electromagnetic water meters to help preserve groundwater based marshes and wetlands around its German coal mines. The meters monitor the amount of water being pumped back into the nature reserves from RWE’s open cast lignite mines, where constant pumping is needed to control groundwater levels in three big mines.
2006-01-17 - A unique ABB tool that analyzes, measures and models electrical equipment failures so they can be identified and fixed quickly has won the Swiss Technology Award this year.
