Anna Liberg, Trainee at ABB

Just imagine, access to the entire job market of the whole of ABB, working abroad, the Colleagues Club and new friends! ABB’s Trainee Program has a huge content and just now is the most popular one in Sweden. Anna Liberg is convinced that she has made the right choice.

“I was never in two minds when submitting my application to ABB. Despite all the turbulence in the media,” says Anna Liberg. “I’d heard such a lot of good things about the Trainee Program and I was extremely happy when I was accepted.”

She mentions that several parts of the Program influenced her choice. For example, a permanent position from the very first day. “You also have the opportunity to get a good insight into the whole of ABB, before deciding on a permanent workplace. And visiting customers. The concept of customer focus is, I feel, perhaps somewhat hackneyed. But its meaning is important. You soon realize this when visiting customers.“

Anna’s background is an MSc degree in biotechnology. And computer courses as part of the technical physics program and a master’s degree in economics. What interests her most of all is technology. Just now she is working as a trainee on FACTS at Power Systems, “When I say that I’m participating in the Trainee Program, the eyes of many people light up in recognition. Being a trainee is a token of legitimacy,” says Anna Liberg.

The six members of Anna’s Trainee Program in Västerås together with the seven in Ludvika have a considerable degree of freedom and responsibility. They themselves book customer visits. One example of their initiative is the breakfast meetings with management groups. One by one the management groups are invited to such a breakfast meeting for a congenial get-together and exchange of information.

“In my experience all the managers take the time to meet us. The Trainee Program is well entrenched in ABB.”

Anna Liberg will soon start working at Robotics, where she has chosen her permanent workplace. But before her job starts, there, it’s time for the training period abroad. This is nothing new for Anna, who has studied in France and Switzerland. “This time I would prefer to visit some country outside the Western World, if this is possible.”
