The AL-EMS, Aluminium Electromagnetic Stirrer is water cooled and operates with a low frequency travelling magnetic field. It is mounted under the furnace bottom or at the side of the furnace. There is no physical contact between the EMS and the furnace. Stirring power and stirring direction can be controlled in manual or automatic mode.

The installation of the EMS is simple. What is needed is a non-magnetic plate (stainless steel) in front of the stirrer and when the EMS is placed under the furnace or on the side, with head room of approx. 2 m.
