Roll Manager

Using Roll Manager allows you to optimize your roll use and so reduce costs. Parameters can be calculated and pre-sets defined allowing you to get the absolute maximum return on your investment, both Hot Rolling Mills and Cold Rolling Mills

Roll Manager is an integrated part of the overall maintenance solution that keeps track of the rolls in the roll shop and/or inventory storage, and it monitors the roll wear. Bringing you state-of-the-art support for daily operations in both Hot and Cold Rolling Mills.



Reuse and reduce costs
Repeated re-machining of rolls is carried out, until the barrel diameter is reaching its lower limit, the so-called discard diameter. If an individual roll is discarded due to breakage or other damage, before it reaches this lower limit, its mate will be kept, its history including parameters like shape, diameter, roughness and location will remain stored in the system and it can later be part of a new roll set. Roll sets in stands might be changes due to a change of finished size in accordance with the pass sequence, even when the are not yet consumed. Stand parameters can be calculated allowing you to adjust for the optimal passline or perform filling calculations.



Roll changes are optimized by tracking rolls that are in standby and rolls that are in the mill (active). Sub-components of rolls, for example bearings or calipers, can also have their history recorded.
