European Union commits further to the Kyoto Protocol

On 17th June, 1998, the European Council approved the following objectives for a reduction or limitation of greenhouse gas emissions which every member state shall guarantee to achieve the Community target of 8% reduction in compliance with the Kyoto Protocol.
