The contract includes the control and automation system with all the hardware and software, two ACS 1000 drive systems, the entire electrical infrastructure with all switchgear and power transformers, the motors and associated drives, systems engineering, erection and commissioning. The Building Materials Division previously supplied the electrical equipment for the ECC production lines 1, 2 and 3. The experience gained from those projects will accelerate the construction of the fourth line, which is located near Suez and planned to go into production in Nov. 2001. It will have a daily output of 4750 tons of clinker. This contract consolidates still further ABB Industrie AG’s position in the marketplace as the preferred supplier to the cement industry.
