2009-11-19 - ABB will start the marketing and sales of its new solar inverter series in the German, Italian and Spanish markets.
The first ever solar inverter developed by ABB was launched at the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition 2009 (PVSEC) in Hamburg on 21 to 25 September.
This series of ABB central inverters is designed for system integrators and end customers who require premium performance solar inverters for photovoltaic power plants and industrial and commercial buildings. The inverters are available from 100 to 500 kW, and they are optimized for cost-efficient multi-megawatt solar power plants.
“ABB’s new range of solar inverters combines reliability and performance in one of the most compact and modular designs on the market. The inverters are designed to deliver maximum energy from the solar modules to the power network over the whole lifetime of the system”, says Jyrki Leppänen, Global Market Manager for solar inverters at ABB Oy, Drives in Helsinki, Finland.

“The response we received from our customers at the PVSEC exhibition in Hamburg shows that they very much appreciate these features and do welcome ABB’s appearance on the market”, Jyrki says.
ABB has decades of experience in power converter and inverter technology and has supplied components to solar inverter manufacturers over a long period of time. Solar inverters convert the direct current produced by photovoltaic panels into alternating current that can be fed into the transmission network.
BU LV Drives in Helsinki is globally responsible for the product development, marketing and sales of the new solar inverters.
