ABB substation delivery to Kemi Ajos wind farm in Northern Finland

A 110 kilovolt power line, 11 kilometers long, will be built and delivered to the Kemi Ajos wind farm – the largest wind farm in Finland. The included substations and transformers will also be ABB products.

The ABB delivery includes a 110/20 kilovolt substation as a turnkey delivery:
  • 1110/20 kV, 31.5 MWA main transformer
  • 110 kV switches
  • 20 kV Uniswitch switchgear
  • MEHO switching station building
  • AC and DC auxiliary systems
  • Connections to remote operating system
  • Excavation and construction
  • Installations
  • Design
  • Testing and commissioning

    The wind farm was ordered by PVO-Innopower Oy, a Finnish subsidiary of Pohjolan Voima. The first turbine for the wind farm was connected to the main grid in October 2007.
    The entire farm will be operational in late winter 2009.
