New Westchase facility reinforces commitment to Houston, Gulf Coast region
Houston, Texas, November 2, 2009 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announced today that the company will move its Houston Briarpark operations to a new facility at 3700 West Sam Houston Parkway on November 30.
"Houston and the Gulf Coast region are very important for us,” said Veli-Matti Reinikkala, head of ABB’s Process Automation division. “Our division’s global headquarters are here, and many of our top customers are located here as well, particularly in the oil and gas sector. This facility will support our continued growth in the Houston market.”
The Westchase facility will provide offices for 175 employees plus additional space for anticipated expansion. It also will house a training room and two permanent demonstration centers to accommodate functional examples of ABB’s products and systems such as field instrumentation and ABB’s 800xA distributed control system.
In addition to its Houston offices, ABB has operations in Sugar Land and a marine service center on the Houston Ship Channel. The company employs around 500 people in the greater Houston area.
