ABB wins $22 million transformer order in Singapore

2005-01-26 - First export contract for power transformers from ABB plant in China

Zurich, Switzerland, 25 January 2005 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, said today it has won a $22 million order in Singapore for power transformers and shunt reactors. The contract was awarded by SP PowerGrid.

“This order is a breakthrough for ABB in the power transformers and shunt reactor market in Singapore,” said Peter Smits, head of ABB’s Power Technologies division. “It also marks the first export order for power transformers from ABB in China – a major achievement for our plant in Chongqing.”

Under the terms of the contract, ABB will deliver five three-phase banks of 400/230/66 kV 167MVA autotransformers from Chongqing, and two units of three-phase, 400 kV 100 MVA shunt reactor banks from Ludvika, Sweden, as well as power cables and ancillary equipment and accessories.
