The global engineering company was billed number one in the engineering industry, and number three overall, by 11,176 students surveyed.

The ABB employee who works most closely with the students was also honored by survey respondents. Reijo Palola of the human resources center in Västerås received the highest ranking in his field.

“I am very happy that this award was given to Reijo”, says Lena Eliasson, head of Human Resources in Sweden.

“Reijo has been working with marketing ABB at universities for 20 years – and he does it with enthusiasm and great engagement. He definitely deserves the award.”

Over the years ABB has consistently held a top position among engineering students. In the 2006 survey, it followed closely behind the number two employer, Ericsson. The top employer across industry categories was Sony Ericsson.

The Swedish company Universum conducts the annual survey.
