July 30

System 800xA Networking (Tropos and Switches, PCNSM, monitoring, security)

This workshop will host the Tropos portfolio, and will contain a discussion of the network structure and topology of their system. Application examples, together with examples of the Software configuration, will also be presented. The network has become a vital part of a control system today, and for this reason, it has become very important for us to understand it, how to deploy it, its components, its restrictions and how its cyber security threats can be mitigated. We will learn the new portfolio of network components delivered by ABB. We will also cover cable and wireless topologies. We will see an overview of the configuration tools of the network components and how these are integrated into 800xA. Finally, we will learn how it is possible to get diagnostics of these devices and what considerations must be taken into account to make the network as cyber secure as possible.
