ABB goes interactive at AUSPACK 2009

2009-06-12 - Headlining ABB’s stand will be the recently launched IRB 360 FlexPicker, offering improved cycle times of 20% and an increased payload of 50%.

ABB announced that it will demonstrate the future of packaging robotic technology on Stand 282 during AUSPACK at the Sydney Showgrounds, Sydney Olympic Park NSW from June 16 to 19.

Visitors to ABB’s stand will have the opportunity to see the FlexPicker IRB 360 – a second generation high speed picking robot that offers faster processing and faster payback for packaging applications. The FlexPicker 360 offers the ability to handle heavier objects and accommodate the mass of increasingly sophisticated grippers required in handling diverse products. The IRB 360 is the second generation delta robot solution for precision pick and place applications. Its outstanding features are incredible speed, high payload, accuracy, reliability and ease of use.

“The FlexPicker 360 represents our latest offering for picking and packing automated technology. The speed and small footprint offers flexibility combined with high cycle times. In short, it saves time, space and money and its industrial design ensures it can meet the needs of the most demanding operations,” says Peter Bradbury, sales manager packaging solutions for ABB Australia.

ABB’s FlexPicker IRB 360 will be demonstrating its moves by playing a word game similar to Scrabble. And visitors to ABB’s Stand 282 can also see the IRB 260, IRB 140 and IRB 1600 robots operating in a multi-move system playing an interactive dice game.
