The ABB Programmable logic controller team is please to announce the release of the AI531 Series of analog input modules. These 3rd generation designs provide cost sayings in design time and inventory reduction. They provides eight analog input channels and up to 20 V DC common mode voltage allows safe operation with big potential differences. Each analog input channel is individually configurable with the following functionality:
- Differential inputs
- Up to 20 V DC common mode voltage
- High resolution up to 15 bit + sign according measuring range
- High accuracy inputs 0.1% (voltage), 0.3% (current)
- 8 channels usable in up to 4-wire technology
- Several measuring ranges are available
- Inputs include: voltage, current, resistance, and thermocouples
The AI531 analog module can be used as a remote expansion module at the FieldBusPlug Plug Interface Module DC505-FBP, at the CS31 Bus Module DC551-CS31 or locally an AC500 CPU.
Each of the 8 channels can be used with 2, 3 or 4-wire sensor connections. Two input channels are not required for 4 wire sensors as with other AI modules. AI531 ships from local stock throughout the USA and Canada with CE, cUL and GOST R agency approvals. Information about additional certifications is available on request.
