ABB Industry Care simplifies service

2016-08-24 - New service approach matches customer needs to “Care Packages”

August 22, 2016, Westerville, Ohio, USA – ABB’s Process Automation Division has introduced a simplified approach to service agreements that makes it easier for customers to match needs to ABB services, so that they can achieve operational efficiency faster.

ABB Industry CareTM is a global standardized service agreement framework that helps ABB customers cut complexity, control costs and maximize capital. ABB Industry Care offers three “Care Packages:”

1. Rapid Response, delivering fast service to maximize equipment availability;

2. Lifecycle Management, providing tools and knowledge to extend equipment life;

3. Performance Improvement, increasing productivity by optimizing equipment and processes.

Each Care Package starts with Rapid Response and then expands on scope according to “Lifecycle Management” and “Performance Improvement” requirements. Customers can quickly identify the Care Package that best suits their needs, and ABB can deliver those services more efficiently due to standardized scopes, processes and tools. Both parties spend less time developing customized agreements, so both parties can focus on improving the customer’s operational efficiency.

An ABB Industry Care engagement begins by comparing a customer’s ABB assets to an ABB global installation database so that everyone is on the same page regarding equipment and revisions. ABB then works with the customer to understand their needs, and together determine the best Care Package. ABB then applies expert people, processes and tools to deliver, including globally standardized Field Service Management and Advanced Service Delivery platforms such as ServicePro and ServicePort.

While standardizing service scopes to the three key Care Packages, ABB Industry Care is still flexible enough to ensure services meet specific customer equipment and industry needs. Thus, the ABB Industry Care approach is scaled to include ABB Cement Care, ABB Measurement Care, ABB Metals Care, ABB Mining Care, ABB Oil and Gas Care, ABB Paper Care and ABB Power Generation Care.
