2009-04-15 - April 15: Occupying the largest space at the Penang Automation Expo, ABB showcased its leading automation technology, products and solution in one of the most important manufacturing hubs located at the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia.
The booth displayed ABB’s latest products comprising the PM500 PLC, a modular scalable solution to cater for complex demands from the process and manufacturing industry as well as the Orimaster, a one-piece compact orifice differential pressure flowmeter with high reliability and low maintenance. Other products showcased included motors, drives, circuit breakers, soft starters as well as protection relays.
Making its debut in the Penang were ABB’s industrial robots, the IRB 140 and Flex Picker IRB 360. Reliable and robust, the IRB 140 is the fastest robot in its class whilst the Flex Picker IRB 360, a second generation delta robot solution, is suitable for packaging applications, particularly in clean-room environments.
The three-day event was held at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) from March 19 to 21, 2009. Officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang YAB Lim Guan Eng, the Penang Automation Expo provided an opportunity for potential customers and channel partners to discuss and obtain more information on the benefits afforded by ABB’s robots and low voltage automation solution.
