The 2004 European Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition (EWEA) will be held at the Wembley Conference Centre from 22 to 25 November. ABB is participating in both the conference and the exhibition.
A paper on the topic of ‘the secure and reliable integration of large wind farms into transmission grids’ has been prepared by ABB experts including Peter Jones, Sector Manager – Renewables with ABB Power Technologies in the UK. The paper gives practical examples obtained from HVDC (high voltage direct current) wind farm installations in Europe as well as experience from remote offshore platforms. ABB is exhibiting on stand L78 where there will be the opportunity to see examples of wind farm connections and to talk to company experts.
EWEA will be officially opened by Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of State at the Department of Trade and Industry. Other speakers will include political and industry leaders from across Europe.
