ABB appoints Solaris Power Services as authorized service provider for MV Service products in Michigan

The Power Products Medium Voltage (PPMV) Division of ABB Inc., the leading power and automation technology group, has established Solaris Power Services as an industrial and commercial authorized service provider (ASP) for its aftermarket products and services. As an ASP, Solaris Power Services resources perform field installation, start-up, commissioning, warranty, inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance services on equipment manufactured by PPMV. Utilizing PPMV factory parts and services, Solaris Power Services offers maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and replacement of low and medium voltage switchgear and circuit breakers manufactured by ABB, and its legacy brands and trade names, including Brown Boveri, BBC, Gould, and ITE.

PPMV provides aftermarket products and support to customers through the MV Service organization. Joe Baker, PPMV Senior Vice President & General Manager, announced the agreement as “a logical step to implement a network of authorized service providers to offer customers increased local support services. ASPs provide local augmentation to our internal resources for medium voltage service solutions.” This agreement covers the areas of Michigan. “These are important markets for us because of the density of industrial and commercial customers in the area,” said Baker.

This new ASP agreement strengthens ABB’s partnership with Solaris Power Services and takes advantage of Solaris Power Service’s knowledge of ABB products. “This is a great opportunity to provide our customers with additional exposure to the high quality MV products and services offered by ABB while enhancing our ability to add to our customer oriented commitment of providing high quality products and services effectively and safely.

This agreement meets with our vision of a mutually beneficial relationship,” said Edd Broderick, Vice President of Solaris Power Services.

Solaris Power Services joins PPMV’s expanding network of ASPs, including Magnetech Power Services, 3-D Service, IETS, Tidal Power Services and Southern Power Systems.
