BLOOMFIELD, NJ, April 15 -- Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Company Ltd., a joint venture of BP Chemical, Sinopec and Shanghai Petrochemical Corporation, has selected ABB to provide technology, engineering and procurement services for part of their new US$ 2.7 billion petrochemical complex in Caojing, China. A contract has been signed for a small portion of the engineering and procurement services for a project valued at approximately US$ 350 million, which includes a 900,000 metric ton per year (MTA) naphtha cracker integrated with an olefins conversion unit (OCT) to produce a total of 590,000 MTA propylene. The complex is scheduled for start-up in the first half of 2005.
