Recently, ABB’s innovative intercom technology was installed at the Rivage Royale, one of the most famous and prestigious residential buildings located at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It boasts 176 luxury riverside apartments spread over 30 floors with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Until this year, residents had complained about the antiquated video intercom system they were forced to use to communicate to their visitors at the main entrance to the building. Now, thanks to the ABB Welcome Intercom System, residents enjoy crystal clear color pictures with telephone quality audio when speaking to their guests.
ABB’s Welcome Intercom System offers many more features than a standard intercom system. The system offers IP capability allowing people to answer calls and open doors using their smartphone or tablet, and can be fully integrated into ABB’s home automation systems. This means that by downloading the ABB-Welcome App, residence can now control their door station remotely from anywhere in the world (Internet access required) and with the full automation system they can adjust the lights, air-conditioning and so much more.
The system also includes an induction loop for the hearing impaired, and since it only uses two wire technology for audio and video, it can be installed and maintained quickly and with ease.

The retrofit project at the Rivage Royale is now a flagship site for the Welcome Intercom system in Queensland for both ABB and N.A.S.A. Electronic Security Systems Pty Limited.
