ABB helps to raise £6,000 in annual bike ride

ABB Eutech Process Solutions has recently sponsored Rohm & Haas in their seventh annual bike ride in aid of NECCR (North East Children’s Cancer Research).

The NECCR is based at the Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary and is a center of excellence for developing treatments for many kinds of children’s cancer.

The twelve riders who took part, sporting their ABB t-shirts, set off from the Rohm & Haas plant in Grangemouth and three days and 230 miles later (including a strenuous 97 miles on the first day), turned up at the Jarrow plant after following a scenic and convoluted route through the borders and down the Northumbrian coast.
The ABB project team have worked at the Rohm & Haas site in Jarrow for over six years now and provide a wide range of consultancy services to many other R&H sites in the UK. Colin Board, a member of the project team, and who also took part in the bike ride, says “we are delighted to be able to support R&H in this type of fund raising activity for such a worthy cause”.

A cheque for £6,000 was presented to the NECCR on 10th September.
