IP65 rating is standard for ABB’s extended range of enclosed load break/switchfuses

ABB’s complete range of enclosed load break/switchfuses from 20 to 800A enables installers to specify a robust IP65 rated enclosure, totally protected against the ingress of dust and low pressure water jets, for less than the cost of most basic IP41 enclosures. The enclosed switches, available in a choice of plastic, powder coated sheet steel or stainless steel enclosures, are ideally suited for a wide variety of applications such as: safety switch, local isolator, main switch, motor control switch, emergency switch, combination switch.

A padlockable operating handle, which can accept up to three padlocks essential for permit to work, is fitted as standard on all ABB Enclosed Switches. Switches up to 63A are IP20 rated (load break up to 160A) while switches over 100A have shrouds fitted to incoming terminals (load break 200A and above).

OTP plastic enclosures
ABB’s OTP range of three, four pole and six pole load break switches from 16A to 800A in high quality IP65 rated grey plastic enclosures offers easy installation and cabling. They are supplied as standard with a red/yellow handle, while a variety of other handles are available on request. Provision is made for cable entries top and bottom which together with plenty of room for wiring inside the enclosure makes installation as simple as possible.

Three pole versions of the OTP range include a solid neutral link and the load break switches can be converted into safety switches simply by adding auxiliary contacts.

Sheet steel enclosures
ABB’s sheet steel enclosures are manufactured from zintec sheet steel for improved protection and powder coated with an orange peel finish. Removable gland plates are fitted top and bottom and the hinged lid is easily removed to maximise access to the generous space for incoming and outgoing cables. Only stainless steel fixing screws are used in all enclosures.

All three pole switches in sheet steel and stainless steel enclosures include a detachable neutral link and they are fitted with padlockable pistol grip handles as standard. A full range of auxiliary contacts and spreader boxes is available to facilitate the glanding off of larger or multi-cable applications.

Stainless steel enclosures
ABB’s stainless steel load break/switchfuses are designed to provide the ideal combination of hygiene, corrosion resistance and ingress protection. The enclosures feature a special design which eliminates sealing gaps and crevices where food or dust could gather, while maintaining IP65 protection. They are ideally suited for isolation of electrical equipment in the food and liquids processing industries, as well as any other application where hygiene and cleanliness requirements dictate frequent washing and hosing down with cleaning solutions. The enclosures are manufactured in 316 stainless steel with a bolt on lid. A brushed finish is standard while a polished finish is available to special order.

Switchfuses
All switchfuses are double break to provide complete fuse isolation when in the off position and they are supplied complete with fuses.

Specials
ABB manufactures all its enclosures in-house and is able to meet any special customer requirements for alternative designs, sizes or colours.
