2008-07-23 - World-class services from the world leader in pulp and paper
ABB is the world leader in pulp and paper applications. This depth of knowledge and experience has enabled ABB Service to develop, productize and deliver a wide range of optimization services to help customers improve production quality and efficiency.
ABB US Service has offered Optimization Services for Pulp & Paper customers since 2004. The customer base has shown impressive growth and is continuing to expand. The Pulp & Paper Center of Excellence (CoE), created in 2008, provides product support and continues to expand the business globally.
“Our paper industry Optimization Services have been very beneficial to all of the mills we visit,” commented Robert Horton, US Optimization Services Business Development Manager. “Customers are now asking for additional offerings. They are pleased with the amount of information we uncover and utilize to improve their bottom line.”
Optimization services for the paper industry normally begin with a diagnostic service called a “Paper Machine Fingerprint”. It typically uncovers potential mill savings exceeding $200,000 per year. Savings are realized when recommended solutions are implemented.
After the Paper Machine is optimized, other areas of the process can be evaluated utilizing targeted Optimization Services.
