ABB receives order for new solar inverter

In February 2010, ABB received an order for large solar inverters from a leading German systems integrator.

The German systems integrator will now use the new ABB solar inverter PVS800 for its installations, not only for the domestic market, but also for the European market.

Only a few months following the introduction of the product, ABB has been able to make its stand on the solar market. "ABB has been awarded this important contract, although governments are quite frankly discussing curbing public support for solar installations. Against this background, the current sales successes on the German solar market, which is so important for the international development, cannot be overestimated", says Dirk Leinweber, Marketing and Sales manager for solar power in ABB’s Discrete Automation and Motion division in Germany.

The new solar inverter has an innovative modular structure and can be delivered at short notice, because it is made on standard platforms that ABB uses for its industrial production. All these advantages, together with the global service network ABB is able to offer, make up an attractive overall package for the solar market.
