The DMS Graphical User Interface is designed to provide the advanced display, monitoring and operational features necessary for efficient and safe Electric System Dispatch Operations.
Its job is to graphically convey a large amount of information about the state of the distribution network, and provide an efficient mechanism for the Operator to monitor and control the grid.
The DMS GUI provides geographic and schematic views of the network, as well as real-time information and switching operations to support Electrical System Dispatch Operations.
The DMS GUI is laid out in an easy-to-use format and is divided into four functional areas:
- Main Menu
- Tool Bars
- Network Map(s)
- Status Bar
The DMS GUI includes a number of standard Tool Bars that include the following.
- Navigation
- Trace
- Feeder Focus
- Line Coloring
- Outage Management
In addition, the user may create a user-defined set of Tool Bars to meet site-specific work procedures.
Work Procedures are managed using an integrated work environment consisting of a graphic display of the electrical “World Map”, information lists using OMI (Operations Management Interface), and operational dialogs.
