The Network Manager SCADA/GMS applications support scheduling, dispatch, control, and monitoring of thermal and hydro power plants. It includes tools to optimize the day-to-day generation schedules, ensuring that reserve margins by regions are maintained. Operational and environmental constraints are enforced.
Network Manager SCADA/GMS provides Automatic Generation Control and Economic Dispatch functionality, as well as functions for monitoring and optimizing production costs and MW reserves. A Hydro Coordination function is also provided for real-time control and management of hydro units and the associated water resources:
Network Manager also provides Energy Trading and Forecasting applications with interfaces to Production Scheduling and Optimization functions for any combination of hydro and thermal generation resources.

Special tools are provided for viewing, modifying and approving external unit schedules available (Production Plan).
Network Manager SCADA/GMS also includes interfaces to plant automation systems using an OPC interface and a central data repository for operation schedules and results.
