Production Management uses optimized production schedules and real-time information to control and streamline the manufacturing process and avoid over or underproduction.
The jumbo reel planning function maps available trim patterns to jumbo reels before the winding process and defines proper lengths for the jumbo reels to be produced. In the winding process the produced rolls are assigned against the orders. Unique roll numbers identify the individual rolls throughout the finishing process, ensuring that the right product gets delivered to the right customer.
The materials management function keeps track of materials used for instance in the winding, packaging and sheeting processes. The material inventories are updated on-line as new material is received or consumed at the mill floor.
All warehouse transactions, such as receipts, deliveries, and rejections are captured for controlling and reporting purposes. Load plans are used as work instructions in loading operations and vehicle and package codes are recorded in the loading process. Packaging lists are available on-line and shipment data is transferred to the business system for rapid invoicing and payment.
The lost time tracking function allows logging and reporting of lost time including shutdowns and breaks per working station. The data is aggregated for reporting purposes, the final goal being improved operational efficiency.
