DCS600 Digital Control

The Power IT Compact Rectifier uses ABB’s DCS600 digital control module.

Many years of ABB’s experience in power electronics have been used in the DCS 600 development. Moreover it’s reliability has been verified time and again in countless applications as a major part of ABB DC motor drives, generator excitation and other applications.

The DCS 600 digital microprocessor control has superior current regulation, as it is constant, accurate and stable over the units operation range. Its various protection features like over-current, over-voltage and phase-sequence are fully integrated to protect the rectifier bridge devices from unnecessary stress and damage.

Current regulation is done based on the ac current, measured by CT’s on the primary side of the transformer. By using a CDP312 handheld panel or a standard ABB software tool, control regulation and protection settings can easily be adapted. With ABB’s DCS600 digital controller, plant integration through hardwired interfaces or various communication protocols is easily possible resulting in complete access to remote units in a plant.

DCS600 is supported by ABB's worldwide local service organizations and logistics centres for spare parts.
