Central Institute of Mining & Fuel Research (CIMFR) is one of the national laboratories under the canopy of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. Flame & Explosion Laboratory of CIMFR is the premier laboratory in India for testing, certification and R&D services for all types of explosionproof electrical equipment like flameproof, intrinsically safe, increased safety, non-sparking, pressurized or purge protected etc. for safe operation in hazardous areas. These equipment are generally used in coalmines, oil mines, petrochemicals refineries, pharmaceutical industries, defense storage etc. and any other explosive atmospheres where electrical equipment are required. Flame and explosion laboratory is recognized by DNV, Norway for CE marking under ATEX directive.
