The all-new design developed for the A100 features new compressor stages with further optimized impellers and new diffusers. Compressor cooling is standard for four-stroke applications, allowing highest pressure ratios to be achieved with aluminium compressor wheels and enabling ABB’s engineers to ensure that compressor replacement intervals are comparable with those for today’s standard turbochargers. The A100 also features newly developed turbine stages, including gas inlet and outlet casings.
A100 turbochargers offer customers new benefits in the technical, environmental and cost areas. The very high compressor ratios A100 turbochargers achieve can be utilized to reduce NOx emissions and/or increase the power density of the engine.
