Robotics Service will present and demonstrate the global Service Agreement concept including Remote Service technology. The powerful technology and global presence of service engineers contribute to immediate analysis and fast assistance already during commissioning phase. The end customer will benefit of extended production uptime and speed up the ramp-up phase. Robotics Service will also inform you about our robot refurbishment concept and global footprint.
Foundry demonstration
Take a look at the new Robot, IRB 6660, optimised for pre machining. Innovative technology and exiting news within general to all foundry applications/areas. Focused applications/areas are robotized cleaning and machining and die casting machine tending.
Vision Guided Robotics with ABB TrueView
Using a robot mounted single camera and variable lighting package, TrueView is a full capability 6 degree-of-freedom 3D vision guidance system. The robot is programmed to position the camera and adjust the lighting to a position to capture an optimal image. This unique approach to vision guidance allows for automatic calibration and component part training which in turn shorten solution development and integration lead times.
FlexFinishing - Force Control for machining applications
For the first time, robots boast sensitive intelligence in the form of tactile sensing, transforming them into “smart robots”. They possess the “perfect touch”, with the capability of quickly and accurately adapting machining to the surface contour and consistency of the materials and component parts to be processed.
Three new functions, FC automatic path learning, FC Pressure and FC SpeedChange, add a new dimension to the use of robots in machining operations, that will result in improved process results and product quality, higher productivity, reduced programming time, shorter cycle time and lower cost.

Metal fabrication
The IRB 1600ID robots are equipped with the powerful and versatile AristoMig 4000 power source and wirefeeders from Esab and Robot mount iSTM integrated hose package and ABIROB torches from Binzel. The torches are served by ABB`s Torch service centers including Bull´s Eye. The arcwelding robots can be fully monitored and programmed from the ABB FlexPendant with the patented Single-point-of-programming.

RobotStudio 2008
Experience the new RobotStudio 2008 based on Mircosoft Vista with a new and intuitive "ribbon" interface. The ribbon replaces menus, toolbars and many task buttons and consolidates the related functionality in one place, and by that significantly improves usability. With this latest version of the software each user shall be able to work with RobotStudio “intuitively” and get full support in operating within his major working domain.
SafeMove - Next generation robot safety
SafeMove builds on the latest developments in redundant software and electronics based safety solutions, as well as updated safety regulations,in order to provide safe and predictable robot motion. By replacing traditional electro-mechanical safety systems with software, leaner and more flexible solutions for robot cell layouts & safety can be created. The complete separation of robot and operator, traditional for so many years, is no longer mandatory. By employing working range and speed restrictions during operator presence, it is possible to retain automatic operation when, for example, an operator is loading the robot gripper with a work piece. Thus cycle time is saved and the need for a costly pickup fixture is eliminated.
