PC SDK – Getting Started

The PC SDK (Software Development Kit) enables IRC5 customers to operate one or many robot controllers from a tailored application on a PC. The PC SDK is one of the tools in Robot Application Builder.

Try it

  • To try programming with the PC SDK the following is required:

    • Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 is the development environment you use. It is required on your PC before the Robot Application Builder installation.
    • Some knowledge in Windows programming, object orientation and a .NET programming language, such as C# or Visual Basic.

  • Recommended steps to get started:

    • Read through the Product Specification, especially section 1.6 Working with RAB and Virtual IRC5 and 1.7 Software and Hardware Requirements.
    • Go to the Download Page and install RobotStudio and Robot Application Builder.
    • Open the User's Guide in Windows Start Menu at Programs\ABB Industrial IT\Robotics IT\Robot Application Builder 5.11\User’s Guide. To create your first PC SDK application, which scans the network for available IRC5 Controllers refer to:
