Cylmate is monitoring your diesel engine continuously 24/7. That gives you the possibility to eliminate all reactive maintenance. Any change in the combustion parameters will be notified and presented in a clear way. By looking at the data and trend graphs of the Cylmate System, you can foretell a coming fault. The example to the right shows that cylinder 5 (green graph) has a low pressure already 20° before TDC and you can also see that the lower pressure is present even at low load (blue graph). The crew carried through predictive maintenance of the exhaust gas valve and found that it was closing too slowly, which caused a lower compression ratio and a lower combustion pressure. The reason to the problem was that a leaking air spring slightly delayed the closing of the valve, this due to poor valve piston sealing. Thanks to early information from the Cylmate System the repair cost was kept to a minimum level.
