EMF Inductive Voltage Transformers

Our inductive voltage transformer EMF is one of the most widely used voltage transformers for power networks with insulated or grounded neutral points. More than 55,000 units have been delivered since the 1940s.

Its extremely low core flux density enables the EMF to withstand continuous overvoltages. An overdimensioned core effectively counteracts ferroresonance, both harmonic and sub-harmonic.

The core and windings are placed in an aluminum tank. EMF is filled with quartz and mineral oil. The expansion vessel, without moving parts, is placed on the top of the porcelain. A nitrogen gas cushion is used to compensate oil expansion. This design is maintenance and inspection free.

The EMF has proven itself capable of withstanding conditions, in which many other voltage transformer types break down. EMF is also available with silicone rubber insulators, giving you an even better performance in heavily polluted environments.
