The combined instrument transformers consists of a current and voltage module enclosed in a common aluminium, hermetic casing filled with transformer oil. The casing consists of the following parts:
- Bottom tank with voltage transformer
- Porcelain or composite insulator
- Head with current transformer
- Shielded expansion bellows
