Reliability
Since the remote terminal unit is the component of a SCADA/control system exposed to the most severe environmental conditions, reliability has been a key consideration throughout the development of the RTU211. The unit is self-monitoring and in the unlikely event of a malfunction, this is reported to the master station at the first possible opportunity.
Modular architecture for performance and flexibility
The RTU211 has a modular design of both hardware and software. It can be equipped with input & output modules and power supply circuitry to match the specific requirements of each application.
Functionality
The RTU211 is a member of the ABB family of remote terminal units. Synergy within product development means that the RTU211 is equipped with advanced functionality options more usually associated with larger RTUs for example:
- Redundant communications ports
- Dual master communication
- RTU to RTU cross communication
