DCS400
The DCS 400 is a digital DC drive that was introduced in 1999. It was ABB’s first drive featuring a start-up assistant, and ease of use. The DCS 400 is targeted at OEMs, like machine builders, who need an intelligent, easy-to-use digital DC drive at an attractive price. Reduced wiring simplifies the installation (3 wires in, 4 wires out). The integrated start-up assistant means there are only six basic steps to completely commission the drive. The DCS 400 is among the smallest drive in its class, positioning it for easy retrofit, including the replacement of competitor’s drives. An integrated IGBT-based field supply results in less motor stress. The drive comes with a multi-language display panel and application macros with configurable I/O for easy adaptation to the user’s needs. The DCS 400 is available from 20 to 1.000 A at voltages up to 500 V AC (max. DC voltage 600V).
