ABB offers extensive drive repair capabilities. Received parts are analyzed, repaired and thoroughly tested before dispatching. If a module is to be sent to an ABB workshop for repair, it is often practical to perform preventive maintenance using preventive maintenance kits at the same time.
Emergency repair service
If a printed circuit board or a unit needs to be repaired in the shortest time and no exchange unit or new part is available to replace the defective item, the emergency repair service is the right choice.
Exchange unit service
A convenient and fast way to fix a problem with a drive, is to order an exchange module or part. A refurbished module or drive is immediately shipped to the customer (subject to availability). After receiving the exchange unit the defective but repairable unit will be returned to ABB.
As products and systems age a cost effective replacement parts strategy becomes crucial. To help customers minimize their costs and lengthen the lifecycle of their products, ABB provides a comprehensive range of exchange unit services. Some of these services can be offered as an alternative when the required new part is not available.
Coded Exchange units (EXC) are easy to order via Parts OnLine spare part information and ordering system or at an ABB dealer. Warranty is the same as for new spare parts.
