ZHW has been in charge of the software development and the HW/SW integration. ZHW has held a key role in the development and has coordinated the work jointly with ABB. SINTEF has developed most of the SoFT algorithms for the modeling and passivity enforcement. The SoFT algorithms are a combination of the Vector Fitting technique developed by SINTEF and the eigenmodes fitting technique of ABB. Hydro Quebec TransEnergie provides and distributes EMTP-RV, which is a multipurpose simulation software with excellent performance and an intuitive user interface. Hydro Quebec TransEnergie has developed a graphical import function, such that SoFT simulation models may be imported in EMTP-RV simply by a couple of mouse clicks. PI Electronics has developed the SoFT hardware, which consists of 7 synchronous signal generators along with voltage and current measurements in a dynamic range of 120 dB for frequencies 10 Hz – 10 MHz.
