MEGATROL is a smart and ultra compact solution that combines UNITROL Static Excitation System (SES) and MEGADRIVE-LCI Static Frequency Converter (SFC). It is particularly suitable for gas turbine, combined cycle and pumped storage power plants.
Both systems, the SES and the SFC, are based on AC 800PEC high-end processor family. AC 800PEC is an extension of ABB's 800xA control platform, developed to meet the fast control requirements of power electronics applications. One Human-Machine Interface (HMI) allows the interaction with the machine in local operation mode. The connection to upper control is combined for SES and SFC. It is configurable and is typically implemented via Fieldbus.

MEGATROL CS
MEGATROL CS is the
cross start application solution. Up to 6 generators with 3 starters can interact and make automatically or manually preconfigured inter-unit cross-connections to improve the availability of the gas turbine and combined cycle power plant.
