This compact and robust stand-alone Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is mainly intended for the improvement of the damping of the electromechanical oscillations by appropriate influencing the automatic voltage regulator control loop.
UNITROL® stand-alone PSS is an easy-to-use, reliable equipment with the following built-in features:
- Microprocessor-based digital power system stabilizer with transfer function in accordance with IEEE standard 421.5 PSS 2A/2B or PSS 4B
- Simple parameter setting with local operating unit (standard) or with notebook and CMT software (option)
- Integrated data logger with 6 channels, each with 1000 samples with programmable sampling interval
- Comprehensive self monitoring
- Communication with higher-level control systems via bus coupler (MODBUS, PROFIBUS as option)
- LAN integration (TCP/IP) via Ethernet adapter for remote diagnostics (option)
- Built-in automatic ON/OFF control logic and minimum active power activation threshold value
