Type 1 Surge Protective Devices
In order to divert to the ground the high amount of energy coming from the direct lightning strike, the incoming surge protective device (Type 1) should be located in the main panel board.
Type 2 Surge Protective Devices
In the secondary panel board(s) a Type 2 Surge Protective Device will be installed in order to lower the residual voltage in order to limit overvoltage to values compatible with the equipment connected to the network.
Telecom Surge Protective Devices
The Telecom and Dataline Surge Protective Device (OVR TC) will protect the equipment connected to telephone lines (digital or analog), computer links or current loops for voltages of 6V, 12V, 24V, 48V or 200V.
