The UMC22 is an intelligent motor controller for 3-phase motors combining the two classical functions of motor protection and motor management in a single device plus offering diagnostic and fieldbus communication as well.
The device functions can be configured in a wide range to cover the needs of different industries.
Protection Functions
- The UMC provides comprehensive motor protection including phase failure detection, stall protection and configurable current limits
- Overload classes 5,10,20,30
- Thermistor motor protection (PTC)
- Earth fault detection
- One device type covers the whole current range starting from 0.24 up to 63A. For higher currents up to 850A additional current transformers are available.
Fieldbus Communication
- The UMC can be integrated into different fieldbus networks such as PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, Modbus and CANopen via the FieldbusPlug
Motor Management
- The UMC provides six digital inputs and three relay outputs
- Control functions for Direct Start, Reversing Start, Star-Delta Start etc. are directly handled from the UMC
- The digital inputs can be configured in many ways to adopt the behavior of the UMC to specific user requirements.
