By virtue of its up-to-the-future field bus plug technology, the field-bus-neutral system can be easily connected up to almost any desired field bus. Its scalability offers a maximized multiplicity of solutions for accurate handling of every automation job – all that’s needed is a quick replacement of the CPU or simply 5 expansion using I/O modules. AC31

With the integrated built-in I/O and communication couplers, AC31 is a competitive solution in the minimum of space.
The range is based on 2 main CPU types :

• Low end 40&50 series CPU’s with 14 built –in I/O, expandable locally with up to 6 I/O extensions or expandable through the fieldbus bus CS31 with remote I/O, 24VDC, 120VAC or 230VAC power supply,
• Powerful 90 series CPU’s with up-to 40 built-in I/O expandable through the field bus CS31 with remote I/O, built in communication protocol like PROFIBUS DP master/slave, DeviceNet, Ethernet, ARCNET, 24VDC power supply

A slot PLC with CS31 fieldbus bus interface and ARCNET allows a fast response time between the embedded PLC program and the PC application through internal RAM. A Profibus DP or DeviceNet boards can be connected. ASCII, MODBUS master/slave, modem communication are integrated in all types of CPU’s.
